PPPC
performed a new piece, "Prelude of Celebration," which David wrote for
the installation service of the new Sr. Pastor,
Ed Brandt. The piece is
in
high-Baroque style for trumpet, organ, and choir, and was performed
by Skip Waring (trumpet), Szymon Grab (organist), and the choir of PPPC,
under the direction of
Dr.
Lenard Berglund, director of traditional music.

David attended the
International Film Music Festival in Úbeda,
Spain (Andalusia region), which featured film composers
John Frizzell,
John Debney,
John Ottman,
and Basil
Poledouris, and many top composers from Spain.
Sat in on many of the orchestra rehearsals, which culminated in a live
film music concert on Saturday night under the evening sky in the historic 16th
Century Hospital de Santiago building in the heart of Úbeda. The
concert featured suites from the films, Superman Returns, X-Men
2, Macarthur, Patton, Passion of the Christ, Alien Resurrection,
and Conan, the Barbarian. |

David scored the film, "Sometimes… And Always in a Dream,"
written & directed
by
Alen Blake, and produced by
Dilated
Pictures. The dramatic short follows the bizarre journey of a
salesman, a truly American
story dealing with the conflicts of personal success against the
tapestry of the American Dream. It premiered at the
Langston Hughes African American Film Festival in Seattle. This project marks the second collaboration between Alen &
David, who worked
together previously on the short film, "Lost & Found." Alen was recently featured on
Northwest Cable News,
together with several other Seattle-based filmmakers. (watch
the segment) The film's musical score
revolves around arrangements on Franz Gruber's classic sacred song,
"Silent Night." The underscore cues are orchestral with blues
influence. Skip Waring (trumpet) and Risa Larson (soprano) are the

David wrote an orchestral arrangement of the traditional "Auld Lang Syne"
song, and together with composer
Dean
Grinsfelder, produced the track for a New Year's Eve celebration in
Times Square, New York, hosted by
Regis Philbin, and broadcast on the FOX network. (view the

David completed the score for "Clear" directed by Daniella
Southgate. The score contains 20 minutes of jazz and bossa nova grooves
carefully crafted as underscore throughout the film, and features
exceptional performances by Rory Mazella (clarinet, saxophones), Milcho
Leviev (piano), Tim May (acoustic guitar), Tim Emmons (acoustic bass), Timm
Boatman (drums), and Renée Burkett (soprano). (view the

which David produced,
on September 1st. It features
piano music of composer Ken
Benshoof, and includes two sets of 24 miniature works,
24 Preludes and
Patti's Parlour Pieces. A must for lovers of piano music -
imaginative and distinctive. 48 miniature pieces for solo
piano, each exploring a different mood or colorful texture. Available

The
short film
The Soda,
screened at the
DVExpo East
(Javits Convention Center, New York).
David composed the score with a late 20's jazz style and recorded it
with live musicians, featuring Skip Waring (trumpet), Jay Work (alto
saxophone), David Stout (trombone), Randy Anglin (tuba), and Howie

David completed the score for the independent feature film, "Love Me
(for What I'm) Not," a romantic drama dealing with failed relationships
and a unique weekend experiment for developing new ones. The film was written & directed by Raja Abburi.
The original score is over 40 minutes of orchestral, rock, electronic, & solo acoustic guitar, and features
performances by the Seattle band Dr.
Mombazo, Skip Waring (brass), David Wood (keyboards), and
Jonathan
Abrams (acoustic guitar) of
Shady Mountain
